Fish School

Many small fish swim tightly packed together in a huge school. Together they look like one large animal, which confuses their predators.
For scientists
A school has no leader: each fish aligns only with its nearest neighbors, and the flowing motion of the whole emerges from that. The lateral line organ lets the fish feel the water pressure of their neighbors, so they react as fast as a single body. The silvery flanks act like mirrors and dissolve the individual fish in the shimmer.
