The orca is actually the largest dolphin and a clever hunter. Orcas live in families that stay together for life, and each family has its own language of calls. They work as a team to catch prey.
For scientists
Orcas live in matrilineal groups: the pod follows the oldest female, and sons often stay with their mother for life. Different populations (ecotypes) hunt in completely different ways, some only fish, some seals or other whales, and they pass this culture on to their young. Their call dialects differ by family and hold the group together.
